Court Strikes Out Case Against Innoson Boss
Justice Olusola Williams of a Lagos High Court on Wednesday struck out a fraud case instituted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, against the Chairman of Innoson Motors, Innocent Chukwuma, due to the inability of the prosecution to produce him in court for arraignment.
While delivering the ruling, Justice Williams said that it is the duty of the anti graft body to produce the accused person in court, noting that the court could not continue to be wasting the tax payers money. The Judge said the prosecution could file the charge anytime since it is a criminal matter.

Earlier before the ruling, prosecuting counsel, Zainab Ettu, informed the court that they have not been able to effect the arrest of the Innoson boss.Counsel to the defendant, Joseph Mbaduga, said Chukuma and his company are being charged at the Federal High Court in respect of the same subject matter and transactions .

The EFCC filed a four counts charge against the businessman and his company on allegations bordering on conspiracy to obtain property by false pretences, stealing and forgery in a transaction with Guaranty Trust Bank.
