Former Benue Speaker Calls Dissolution Of Assembly Leadership Illegal

The former speaker Benue state House of assembly Terkimbi Ikyange has described Tuesday's emergency seating that led to the dissolution of the leadership of the state assembly as illegal insisting that he is still the leader of the legislative arm of government.
Ikyange maintained that the House can only be reconvened by him or his deputy not by the clerk adding that anyone parading himself as the leader of the assembly is doing so at his own peril.
The embattled speaker insisted that the assembly remains adjourned to the fifteenth of August and if such imposition is allowed it will be a rape on democracy that should be stiffly opposed.
