Students Sensitized On Plastic Pollution
The pressure placed on Nigeria’s ecosystem as a result of dependence on natural resources and intensification of human activities, have been described as a challenge that must be tackled if Nigeria must achieve an eco-friendly environment.
This
was the focus of discussions at a workshop organised by the global
initiative for food security and ecosystem preservation for secondary
schools in the federal capital territory.
The organisers say there is a need to educate the young ones on the need for an eco-friendly environment.
Some of the students who participated in
the workshop said the program which has established environment clubs
in their various schools has helped in enlightening them on ways of
preserving the environment.
The workshop tagged “beat plastic pollution” was organised as part of activities to mark the world environment day.
