Peter Obi Mourns Umuimo Explosion Victims
The Vice Presidential candidate of the People's Democratic Party, PDP in the 2019 general election, Mr Peter Obi has commiserated with the Government and people of Abia State over the recent pipeline explosion at Osisioma Local Government Area, which left scores dead.
Obi in company of the Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu visited Umuimo in Osisioma Council Area, one of the scenes of the pipeline fire disaster.

The PDP Vice presidential flag bearer announced the donation of 10 million naira to support the state government in alleviating the plight of the victims. Governor Okezie Ikpeazu while thanking the PDP vice presidential candidate for finding time to join well meaning Nigerians in commiserating with the State over the lose say his government has set up a committee to ascertain the immediate and remote causes of the explosion to forestall further occurrence.

About nineteen people were reported dead while several others were injured after an NNPC pipeline conveying refined petroleum products went up in flames at the rural Abia State community.
