Middle Belt Forum Raises Alarm Over State Of Emergency Plot In Benue

The Middle Belt Forum has raised concerns over what it called a secret plot by those described as mischief makers to create tension and ultimately declare a state of Emergency in Benue State by steering continued controversy in the State House of Assembly.

The Forum claims that the underlying reason for the seemingly intractable crisis in Benue is the Anti-Grazing law which has not gone down well with some powerful persons who have failed to come to terms with the good intention of the legislation.
The middle belt forum therefore asked President Muhammadu Buhari to direct the Inspector General of Police to scale-up Security for Government Infrastructure as well as the House of Assembly Complex to avert any future breakdown of law and order.
The Elder Statesmen also called on the International Community to wade into the Political Situation in the middle belt because of its strategic importance to the Development of the Nation
