Police Nabs Phone Snatchers In Abuja

The Federal Capital Territory police command has arrested some members of a syndicate that specialises in snatching of mobile phones around black spots within the federal capital city.
A statement by the FCT police command’s public relations officer, Anjuguri Manza two of the suspects Obadiah Danjuma and Peter James from Mararaba in neigbouring Nasarawa state were arrested by police operatives while attempting to escape with a Samsung note 8 duos phone through a canal.
The statement further stated that another phone snatcher Musa Mohammed was arrested by police operatives attached to the Wuse division of the command for stealing a phone at the popular ultra-modern market.
Following the arrest of Musa Mohammed a victim has come up to identify the suspect as one of the three persons who used dangerous weapons to inflict  injuries on him before robbing him of his phone and the sum of four hundred naira .
Efforts are being intensified to arrest other suspects who are still at large.
Meanwhile, the new commissioner of police in the territory Bala Ciroma has assured members of the public that crime fighting measures have been put in place by the command to   ensure the protection of lives and property across the nation’s capital.
