Three Die In Kogi Cholera Outbreak

Kogi State Government says three persons died  in Kabawa Community of Lokoja Local Government following a cholera outbreak on wednesday.
The permanent secretary Kogi State Ministry Of Health, Kolawole Johnson said out of seventeen (17) suspected cases, nine (9) were male, eight (8) were female and mostly adult.
According to  Kolawole,  six persons are currently on Admission, three in Kogi State Specialist Hospital and three others in a private hospital.
Johnson disclosed that the Commissioner for Health, had earlier directed the rapid surveillance and response team of the State Ministry of health to investigate and respond appropriately.
He advised the general public to take adequate measures on personal and environmental hygiene.
He advised against drinking of water directly from  wells just as he urged them to drink water from the public water source which has been adequately treated.
He advised the public to report any suspected cases of diarrhea and vomiting to the nearest hospital for proper diagnosis and quick response.
